Westwood Hockey, Basketball Set for MIAA Tournament

The Wolverines are poised to take to the ice and court this week as part of the Division 2 and South Division 3 tournaments.

The  boys’ and girls’ hockey teams are set to compete in this year's MIAA State Tournament, and recently found out where they will be seeded, as well as who their first round of opponents will be.

The girls team earned the sixth seed in the MIAA Div. 2 State Tournament after finishing the regular season with a record of 14-5-1, according to MIAA Tournament brackets released this past weekend. The girls will take on Scituate on Friday, March 2 at 7:30 p.m. in Canton. 

The boys team, meanwhile, earned the 17th seed in the MIAA South Division 3 Tournament after finishing the regular season with a record of 9-6-5. The Wolverines will take on Mashpee on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 5 p.m.

The boys' entrance into the playoffs marks a historical feat for the team, which has made the playoffs . 

Meanwhile, the boys basketball team has earned the 11th seed in the South Div. 3 Tournament after finishing the regular season with a record of 12-8, and will play Norton on the road on Wednesday, Feb. 29 at 7 p.m.
