Westwood Resident is Happy to be Back at Westwood High School
Chyten—and his company—are back at Westwood High School

Neil Chyten smiles broadly as he drives down High Street. “I love this town,” he reminisces. “This is where I raised my family and bought my dream home” It is also the town where he opened up the fifth education center that bore his name: “Chyten Premier Tutors and Test Preparation” formerly located at 745 High Street. But life is full of unexpected twists, as he soon found out.
Chyten began selling educational franchises across America. When he did, his Westwood store was purchased by a franchise owner who later decided to change the name and, shortly thereafter, closed the doors. Chyten regrets very much selling that center (and his store in Millis as well) to pursue a career in franchising. However, a few years later, a decision was made to focus more on his roots – to operate company owned stores where he and his colleagues would be able to better control the quality of service they provided, and make full use of the proprietary curriculum that he and his team have developed.
Now, with the franchise experience squarely behind him, Chyten—and his company—are back at Westwood High School with the full support of principal Sean Bevin and Superintendent John Antonucci.

“We believe this opportunity will not only give our students a distinct academic advantage, it’s a partnership that benefits Westwood as a town,” said Westwood Superintendent John Antonucci. Additionally, higher test scores for our students will help everyone in our town, because test scores are strongly considered in virtually all school and town rankings.”
“This partnership is a unique opportunity for Westwood students to build upon the skills and abilities they have honed through our excellent schools and gain the support they need to further position themselves for success in college and in their careers,” said Westwood High School Principal Sean Bevan. Chyten brings a record of success in ensuring that students not only excel on particular tests, but that they develop test-taking skills and problem-solving tools that will serve them well for a lifetime.”

As for Chyten, he couldn't be happier being back in high school. Westwood High School. “I lived here when the new high school was first built, and I couldn’t be happier than to have the opportunity to reconnect with the town and its high-achieving students. As you get a bit older (Chyten is 59) you look back at things differently. Were I to do it again, I would surely never have left. As Thomas Wolfe wrote: You can’t go home again. But I am so thankful to the town to have a second chance here at the high school, to make a difference in the lives of Westwood students, and to make Westwood my new ‘second home.’ ”
