Westwood Residents: Show Us Your Bruins Pride!

Send in your photos and thoughts on the B's winning the Stanley Cup on Wednesday.

After nearly 40 years, the Boston Bruins achieved quite an accomplishment Wednesday night, when they defeated the Vancouver Canucks 4-0 in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Westwood resident Linda Molchan, whose son Chris was a senior on the Westwood High School varsity ice hockey team this past year, said her husband Rick saw the reaction of local fans over at Jake n JOES in Norwood.

"He said the place was insane," Molchan said. "At the end of the night it just erupted. There were a couple of (New England) Patriots players there, and they popped champagne and were spraying it on people. (Rick) is literally having trouble hearing today because of the noise last night."

She added, "Chris was out with a bunch of them last night watching. I am sure they will be headed in to the parade."

Molchan's other son attends St. Michaels College in Vermont, and she said he was able to catch the game with his girlfriend in New Hampshire.

Meanwhile, Westwood Patch reader Brian Regan said he was able to watch the game with his wife at home.

"I was sitting at home in Westwood with the kids asleep and my wife and I in our Bruins shirts," Regan commented. "YAY BRUINS!"

So, with all the spirit and pride from Westwood folks, we're wondering if you have any pictures from nearby events during last night's game.
