Varsity Field Hockey
Highlights provided by Head Coach Angela Wilson:
As of Sept. 25, Westwood's varsity field hockey is 2-3-1 overall and 2-3 in the Tri-Valley League.
"Jamison O'Neill leads our team in points with two goals and three assists (5 points)," said Head Coach Angela Wilson. "As always, the TVL is a competitive field hockey league where there are no guarantees of victory. We've lost two league match-ups by one goal and have won two games by one goal.
"I have a talented team this year, they are both physically and mentally strong, and determined to remain on the winning side of those one-goal differential games."
The varsity field hockey team takes on Holliston Tuesday night at home at 6:30 p.m.
Girls Cross Country
The girls varsity cross country team remains undefeated, as the girls beat Medway last week 17-41, according to head coach Jen Teahan.
The team also competed in a regional Ocean State Cross Country meet held at Goddard Park in Warwick, Rhode Island, at which the girls competed well in all three races for freshmen, junior varsity and varsity.
The top finishers, Teahan said, and receiving medals were Elena Chiulli in the freshmen 4000m and Nora Smith in the varsity 5000m.
"We look forward to going against Bellingham this Wednesday at Bellingham and holding onto our undefeated status," Teahan said.
The match against Bellingham begins Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
