Accused Weymouth Murderer Not Mentally Competent For Trial

An attorney for an accused Weymouth murderer said he was evaluated at a state psychiatric hospital for five weeks and doctors determined that he is not mentally competent to assist in his own defense at trial

Doctors determined that a young Weymouth man accused of a triple slaying in Nov. 2011 is not mentally competent to stand trial.

Donald Rudolph, 20, is accused of murdering his sister, mother and his mother's boyfriend inside his Weymouth home.

An attorney for Rudolph said he was evaluated at a state psychiatric hospital for five weeks and doctors determined that he is not mentally competent to assist in his own defense at trial, according to the Boston Herald.

Prosecutors want to review the doctors' report and potentially have their own expert evaluate Rudolph, the Herald reported.

Rudolph is charged with beating and stabbing to death his 50-year-old mother, Paula Rudolph; his 24-year-old sister, Caylin Rudolph; and 52-year-old Frederick Medina.
