Car Repair Shop Owner Busted on Heroin Charges

WEYMOUTH, MA, - The owner of a local auto business faces heroin charges after a suspected dealer was seen leaving his business, police said.
Collin Emerson, 37, was charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute, subsequent offense; possession of heroin, subsequent offense; conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substance Act; and possession of a Class E drug. He also had a probation warrant out of Norfolk Superior Court.

About six weeks ago, neighbors in the area complained to police, prompting a six-week investigation in the Columbian Square area.
After witnessing the dealer leave the business, detectives spoke with Emerson and subsequently placed him under arrest at 7 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Detectives executed a search warrant on Emerson Auto. They recovered several grams of heroin, $6,000 in cash, a few prescription pills, and materials for packaging heroin for sale.
Charges are being sought against Emerson’s heroin supplier. His name has not been released since he has not been charged. The supplier has previously been charged with drug distribution and possession offenses more than twenty 20 times, leading to both state and federal prison sentences.
Emerson was held at the Weymouth Police Department without bail. His arraignment at Quincy District Court is scheduled for Thursday morning.
