UPDATE: Weymouth Middle Schools Receive Automated Bomb Threat
Police said both schools received a threat delivered through an automated system.

weBoth middle schools in Weymouth were evacuated Friday after receiving a bomb threat.
At about 12:10 p.m., both the Abigail Adams and Maria Weston Chapman received a threat by phone, according to the Weymouth Police Department. Both schools evacuated, with a physical walkthrough and search conducted at both campuses by public safety officers.
No suspicious items were found during the search, with a follow up done by police K-9 bomb detection dogs at both schools also resulting in no suspicious items.

Students at the Chapman School were moved to the Pingree Primary School while Adams students were taken to the Academy Avenue Primary School.

Students evacuated remained at their location until the end of the day and were transported home by bus. Many parents picked their children up prior to the end of school.
Police believe the calls were recordings and delivered through some type of automated call system. Similar bomb threats were received in other schools in Massachusetts Friday.
Police are investigating if the incidents related and if the source of the call can be identified.
