Boston Motel Hit With License Suspension

Health Director Daniel McCormack ​suspended the motel's license Thursday.

WEYMOUTH, MA — Looking for a place to stay in Weymouth? Cross the Boston Motel on Washington Street off your list.

Following a hearing, Health Director Daniel McCormack suspended the motel's license Thursday. The suspension comes after an inspection Monday that turned up several violations including issues with the electrical wiring, sewerage pipes and fire protection systems, according to the Patriot Ledger.

Guests of the motel will have until Saturday to leave.

John Walker, an attorney for motel owner Jay Patel, said his client has hired a plumber, electrician, and contractor and hopes to have the building up to code in a short time period.

Building Inspector Richard Ziegler said he he did not think it would take a short time period to make the improvements.
