WEYMOUTH, MA – The death of a dog at K-9 Daycare is not the kennel's first. A 1-year-old Pyrenees mix named Ringo died at the dog day care in February 2016 after he choked to death when another dog got its jaw stuck in his collar and tried to pull free, according to the Patriot Ledger.
In that case, the town did not find any violations on the part of K-9 Daycare, though the doctor who performed Ringo's necropsy did ask the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to look into the kennel after calling the results "very concerning," Ringo's owner told the Ledger.
K-9 Daycare had its license suspended this week while officials investigate the May 29 death of a dog in its care. Investigators found "multiple violations" of the town's kennel regulations, including the failure to provide water, failure to properly crate and failure to produce records, according to a police statement earlier this week.

Before deactivating its Facebook page, K-9 Daycare wrote that the dog had died in her sleep and the kennel is cooperating with the town and conducting its own investigation into what happened.
"We have been in business for over 7 years and have built this business because of our love for dogs," the statement read, according to the Ledger.
