iconic dining and ice cream experience will be reborn on May 10, 2014

WHAT:           
On
Saturday, May 10th, Friendly’s on Washington St. will unveil a
refreshed appearance and updated menu to the public. The restaurant, which
originally opened its doors in1968 and is owned and operated by franchising
partner ARAL Restaurant Group, is one of the many
locations to take part in the company’s ongoing initiative to reposition the
brand and bring it back to its roots by recreating the iconic Friendly’s dining
and ice cream experience. The Friendly’s team is excited to introduce guests to
a redesigned menu that features new dishes like the Friendly’s All-American
Dog, Turkey Tips and Bananas Foster Pancakes as well as improvements on
classics like the Fishamajig. In addition, the refurbished restaurants boast
updated interiors and exteriors that evoke a timeless appearance that’s both
bright and cheery.

The celebration will kick-off with a
visit from Weymouth Mayor Sue Kay and Friendly’s CEO John Maguire
who will celebrate the restaurant’s re-launch by serving guests the location’s
first official scoop of ice cream. Additionally, starting at 2PM FREE sundae
cups will be distributed to the general public in attendance at the event.
