GOP Senate Hopeful Stumps In Weymouth

GOP U.S. Senate candidate John Kingston stumped at the Republican Town Committee.

WEYMOUTH, MA - From the Weymouth Republican Town Committee: Businessman and philanthropist John Kingston, currently exploring a 2018 challenge to Sen. Elizabeth Warren, attended a meeting of the Weymouth Republican Town Committee (RTC) Monday night to offer his vision for the country and why he is best positioned to defeat Warren.

"We need an independent mind, strong charactered individual who is willing to work across the aisle," Kingston said Tuesday in Weymouth.

Kingston said he feels the lack of political unity is among the greatest threats to the country.

"I am disheartened by the state of affairs in Washington," Kingston said, "the division, the anger, the polarization."

"What stands in the way of responsible leadership?" Kingston asked, "politicians who divide us rather than unite us."

"[Elizabeth Warren} brings the Washington ugliness to Massachusetts," Kingston continued.

"In the words of Frederick Douglas, 'I'll unite with anyone to do right, with no one to do wrong,'" Kingston said.

Kingston said Massachusetts families deserve a senator who will fight for them and their values, not for their own political ambitions.

"The values that I was taught: pro-America, pro-American strength, pro-business, pro-family, pro-community," Kingston said.
