Historic Weymouth Home Escapes Demolition

WEYMOUTH, MA — A historic home at 4 Mutton Ln. in Weymouth will be saved following a vote by the zoning board of appeals.

The board voted to approve a project from Patrick Flaherty Jr. and his business partner, Paul Gratta, that would allow them to divide the lot and add two period-appropriate homes, under the condition that they restore the home, the Patriot Ledger reported.

The two agreed to a historical preservation deed and the house will be opened to the public at times during the year.

Work to keep the house began in February when residents became concerned about the prospect of losing a historical home.
