Motorcyclist in Critical Condition After Main Street Crash

The crash occurred around 8 p.m. Tuesday at 700 Main St.

A motorcycle driver received life-threatening injuries during a serious motor vehicle crash on Tuesday night, police reported.

The motorcycle driver, a 31-year-old male from Weymouth, crashed head-on into a Sedan that was operated by a 23-year-old male from Weymouth.

Weymouth Firefighters and Fallon Paramedics provided treatment to the motorcyclist and brought him to South Shore Hospital. He was then transferred to Brigham and Women’s Hospital and is now in critical but stable condition.

The crash caused Main Street to close for several hours between Middle Street and Park Avenue.

Police investigation said the motorcycle was traveling southbound on Main Street and crossed over the center line and collided into the Sedan traveling northbound.

The investigation of the accident is ongoing. No citations have been issued, police say.
