• Water draw request highlights east-west divisions (sentinelandenterprise.com) — Weymouth's push to join the MWRA water system, tied to redevelopment of the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station, is at the center of a statewide fight over drawing more water from the Quabbin Reservoir. Western Massachusetts lawmakers want the state to reject a blanket increase and instead review each community's needs individually, which could affect how much water Weymouth ultimately receives and when. 
• 13 standout 14U defenders from Route 12 Fall Classic (hockeyjournal.com) — Two Weymouth natives, defensemen Zachary Bivins and Andrew Keigan, earned praise for their poise and dynamic play at the Route 12 Fall Classic youth hockey tournament. The showcase in Winchendon and Cushing highlighted many promising 2012-born players, and the strong performances from these Weymouth players hint at a bright future in New England prep hockey.
