• The Flock camera debate is heating up. Which South Shore towns use them. (patriotledger.com) — Weymouth currently has 35 Flock license plate cameras operating around town, with police touting major arrests and stolen vehicle recoveries while some residents raise serious privacy and civil liberties concerns. Local leaders highlight a public transparency portal and short data-retention policies, but critics want a formal public hearing before the town renews its contract and expands or continues this surveillance system. 
• Off-station Navigational Aid Extraction a Success (fishersisland.net) — A massive 8,000‑pound navigational buoy that washed ashore at Fishers Island last year has been airlifted off the beach and is now headed to the Coast Guard's buoy yard in Weymouth for repairs. The complex joint operation by the CT Army National Guard and Coast Guard wrapped up this week, with the buoy expected to return to service once work in Weymouth is complete.
