Police Nab ‘Dangerous’ Hingham Bank Robber and Weymouth Companion
A wanted Charlestown man was finally caught after allegedly robbing multiple banks across New England, including one in Hingham.
A Hingham bank robbery suspect and his Weymouth companion were both caught and arrested by police on Monday afternoon at a hotel in Brockton.
Ryan Patrick Lane, 35 of Charlestown and Amy Cole, 38 of 19 Elva Road, Weymouth were each arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force from both N.H. and Massachusetts after officers received information they were staying at a hotel on West Elm Street, according to Jeffrey White, Jr., a Deputy U.S. Marshal from N.H.
The suspects were being sought on outstanding arrest warrants for their alleged involvement in the Hingham Rockland Trust bank robbery on Good Friday and multiple bank robberies across Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

On Good Friday, he allegedly told the Hingham Rockland Trust teller that he had a gun, that it was a robbery, and threatened to kill her. After the teller handed him the cash, the suspect grabbed it in hand, walked out of the bank and fled on foot.
Lane and Cole were each identified last week after allegedly robbing a TD Bank in Hampton, N.H. Hingham Police described Lane to be very dangerous.

“Unfortunately, crime knows no boundaries, and criminals can easily move around to commit offenses in any state.,” U.S. Marshal David Cargill, Jr., said in a statement after his arrest on Monday. “We are fortunate that the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force has a broad, nationwide jurisdiction that allows us to pursue these fugitives anywhere in the country and even around the world through our vast network of law enforcement partners.”
