Police Officers Among Weymouth's Highest Salaries

Twenty-nine of the town's 30 highest paid employees work in the police department.

WEYMOUTH, MA — Twenty-nine of the top 30 highest earners in Weymouth work for the police department, according to recently released data.

Lt. Thomas Farrell pulled in $223,064 last year, according to salary data compiled by the Patriot Ledger. Superintendent Jennifer Curtis-Whipple was the highest non-police employee at $181,878.

Capt. Richard Fuller said the high salaries can be attributed to overtime and detail work, which is usually privately funded. Construction work such as the Fore River Bridge also contributed to the high overtime pay.
