Police Searching for Armed and Dangerous Winthrop Man near Woburn

Police are searching for a Weymouth man who allegedly assaulted an officer in Woburn.

WOBURN, MA—State and Woburn Police are searching for a suspect who may have assaulted a police officer.

A State Police spokesperson told Patch that the suspect allegedly struck a pedestrian with his vehicle, and then proceeded to assault an officer who responded to the scene in the area of Garfield Avenue in Woburn.

Reports from both Fox 25’s Heather Hegedus and WCVB’s Todd Kazakiewich now indicate that the identity of the suspect is 29-year-old Tyson Delgado of Winthrop.

Hegedus reported that residents are urged to stay inside. WHDH reported that one officer said the suspect was armed and dangerous.

The suspect later got in his vehicle and drove away. The search is still ongoing, according to police.
