Sketch Released Of Rockland Child Kidnapping Suspect
Police said a 9-year-old boy was kidnapped in Rockland Tuesday then released about a half-hour later.
Police on Thursday released a sketch of a suspect who allegedly kidnapped a boy in Rockland earlier this week.
The 9-year-old boy left the Memorial Park School Tuesday at about 2:15 p.m. when school let out, according to WHDH/7News. A man pulled up on Lower Reed Street and enticed the boy to get in his car, police said. The suspect drove around for about a half-hour before letting the boy out in Abington on Lake Street, police said.
The boy was not harmed. Authorities are looking for the suspect, described as a thin white male with white hair that's longer in the back than on top. He was reportedly driving a white or grey four-door sedan with white or silver hubcaps.
He told the boy he was a friend of his father, WHDH reported.
"This may have been a dry run for somebody who was considering an abduction," Rockland Police Chief John Llewellyn told WHDH.
Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Rockland police at 781-871-3890.
