State Senator Hedlund Enters Weymouth Mayoral Race

A new challenger has appeared in the Weymouth Mayoral Race.

State Senator Bob Hedlund confirmed with State House News that he will run for mayor of Weymouth this fall.

Hedlund is now the second candidate to challenge Mayor Susan Kay for the position. Last month, Weymouth School Committee Chairman Sean Guilfoyle announced his campaign for mayor.

Hedlund was first elected to the State Senate in 1990, unseating a 26-year incumbent. After losing his seat in 1992, he returned to the state house in 1994.
