Substance Abuse Fair in Weymouth

The event will offer teens, young adults and their families resources and information to help fight addiction next week.

Families who are struggling with addiction can visit the upcoming regional Treatment Provider Health Fair to find resources and education to help overcome the disease.

Medical experts will hold a presentation on how to fight addiction and the event will offer resources for teens, young adults and their families.

The program, “Overcoming Addiction as a Family: An Introduction to Motivation, Positive Reward and Family Training,” will be presented by Co-Founders of Hingham Wellness and Harvard Medical School faculty workers Olivera Bogunovic, MD, and Benjamin Silverman, MD.

Local substance abuse treatment resource tables will be there to offer information and resources on addiction.

The event takes place on Monday, Nov. 17 at South Shore VNA, 30 Reservoir Park Drive in Rockland.

Activities kick off at 6 p.m. and last until 7:45 p.m.

Vendors will be available from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and 7:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

The 12 local vendors will include Caron Treatment Center, Gosnold, Hingham Wellness, Independence Academy, Learn2Cope, Project Interface, South Bay Mental Health, Wicked Sober and more.

The event is free and sponsored by South Shore Hospital’s Youth Health Connection with funding from BlumShapiro.
