Vandalism, High Utility Costs Forcing Animal Shelter Out of Weymouth Home

The Massachusetts Humane Society in East Weymouth is looking for a new home.

An escalation in break-ins and vandalism has forced the the Massachusetts Humane Society in East Weymouth to find a new home for its 20 cats and two dogs.

NECN reports that the issue of crime along with the costs of utilities is driving the group out of their current home. In the past, the front gate has been kicked in and lights have been smashed.

The organization is looking at local towns including Hingham, Hanover, and Braintree.
