Want to Buy Soap, Eggs, or Toilet Paper in Abington This Weekend? You'll Need Your ID
The Abington Police Department has asked local stores to not sell items associated with Halloween pranks to customers under the age of 18.

ABINGTON, MA — Shoppers in Abington should prepare to show identification if they plan on buying soap, eggs, shaving cream, toilet paper, or other household items this weekend.
Abington Police Chief David Majenski told the Enterprise that he has asked all stores in town to not sell a variety of items often used for Halloween pranks to anyone under the age of 18. The ban is in effect from Oct. 28 to Nov 1 and is voluntary. Parents have been asked to notify the department if they see stores violating the ban.
Majenski said the ban has been used for over a decade and was first implemented about 12 years ago following a couple of Halloweens with a noticeable amount of pranksters. A successful test led to the department keeping the policy.
