Kennedy has also seen a decrease in his electric bill.  Last month is was reduced by $400 because of the sunny weather.

“I didn’t install it because I’m a green guy, “ Kennedy said. “It’s because I’m a business man.”

Steve Walker, a Clean Energy Executive with Munro Distributing said the panels can be installed on any type of roof, whether it’s a house roof, rubber, flat or metal. He said the installation does not penetrate the roof and will save people money in the long run.

“For businesses who are interested in pursuing solar, it’s an excellent opportunity in the state of Massachusetts,” he said. “The enhance revenue streams set up by the state are creating paybacks in as little as three to four years for businesses.”

The panels will reduce an electric bill by an average of 13-15 cents per kW hour, according to Walker
