Weymouth DPW Worker Charged with Driving Town Truck While Intoxicated Fired

Raymond F. Dorval was fired after a disciplinary hearing Wednesday.

A Weymouth DPW employee who was charged with drunken driving while operating a town vehicle has been fired by the town.

The Patriot Ledger reports that Raymond F. Dorval was fired after a disciplinary hearing Wednesday, weeks after the June 20 crash. His attorney, however, said his client was let go for not driving the truck with a commercial license and nothing more.

Two days after the crash, Dorval was arrested at South Shore Hospital. He pleaded not guilty to drunken driving (fourth offense), driving to endanger, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a marked lanes violation, and speeding during an arraignment at the hospital according to the Boston Globe.
