Weymouth Ice Rink Catches Fire
A fire was started in the ceiling of the Connell Memorial Rink by construction workers on Wednesday. The rink is currently closed.
The Connell Memorial Rink is currently closed after a fire broke out on the roof Wednesday afternoon.
Weymouth Fire Deputy Chief Jonathan Tose said the fire was started at 3:35 p.m. Wednesday after construction workers used a blow torch to weld metal to a wooden beam above the rink.
Tose said the fire was small and was put out within an hour but firefighters had to bring in a scissors lift to get to it.

No one was injured in the fire, but the ice rink and swimming pool remained closed until further notice.
