Weymouth Man Finds Justice in Verdict of Son's Murderer

A local man weighs in on his son's murder in 2009 and the verdict that was delivered Wednesday for his killer.

A Weymouth man was overjoyed Wednesday after learning that a jury had convicted the person who killed his son with an axe in 2009, according to the Boston Herald

On Wednesday, in Braintree four years ago. He was charged with slaying Jeffrey Phillips repeatedly with an axe after Phillips refused to lend him money. 

The victim's father, Robert Phillips, 65, of Weymouth, told the Herald "it was a beautiful day" after hearing the verdict, which was delivered on what would have been his son's 35th birthday.

Walters was scheduled to be sentenced at 10 a.m. Thursday by Judge Kenneth Fishman.
