Weymouth Police Attend Funeral of Slain NYPD Officer

Police officers from across Massachusetts traveled to New York City over the weekend to attend the funeral of a slain New York City police officer.

Rafael Ramos, 40, and his partner were killed Dec. 20 in an ambush attack.

Weymouth Police officers were among the tens of thousands of police officers from across the country who traveled to New York City for Ramos’ funeral Saturday.

Ramos leaves behind a wife and two sons.

“He was the best father I could ask for,” his 13-year-old son, Jaden, said in a statement.

A funeral for Ramos’ partner, Wenjian Liu, will be held Sunday.
