This week, Weymouth police had a little fun on Facebook, making the Snow Miser a wanted man in Weymouth.

Known for his ability to control cold weather, the Snow Miser is accused of dumping over 25 inches of snow on Weymouth and the rest of the South Shore.
The character is well known from the Rankin/Bass-produced 1974 stop-motion animated Christmas classic, “The Year Without a Santa Claus.”

The humor comes after a very long week for Weymouth residents. The snow total for Weymouth was one of the highest in the state, with assistance from the National Guard required to help with snow removal and post-storm cleanup.
The area is unlikely to get a break in the near future, at least another 12 inches of snow is expected in the area this weekend.
