Weymouth Student Charged With Assaulting Teacher

A Weymouth freshman faces assault charges after allegedly attacking a teacher over a cell phone.

A Weymouth High School student is facing assault charges after allegedly attacking a teacher for taking his cell phone during class.

Students in the class tell WHDH that the 15-year-old freshman was caught using his cell phone in class during second period and was told to hand over the device by the teacher. Use of a cell phone during class is against school policy. A student who has their phone taken away from them is allowed to pick it up at the end of the day.

After demanding the phone back before the end of the day, the student allegedly attacked the teacher. Other teachers ran into the classroom, but had difficulty pulling the student off the teacher.
