Weymouth to Talk Override on May 18

The proposed Proposition 2 1/2 override will be discussed at the Annual Town Meeting.

Residents will have a chance to discuss a proposed Proposition 2 1/2 override next week when a public hearing is held during the Annual Town Meeting.

Proposed by the town council, the override would add $6.5 million in revenue for the town. $3 million would be given to the schools. Police, fire, and DPW, would all received $1 million each, and the remaining $500,000 would be distributed among various departments.

The Annual Town Meeting will take place on May 18 at 7:30 p.m.
