Wilmington Power Outage: Service Quickly Restored to Residents

Residents in parts of Wilmington experienced a quick power outage Tuesday morning.

WILMINGTON, MA — Reading Municipal Light Department crews quickly responded to area power outages in Wilmington in the area of Woburn Street and Federal Street Tuesday morning, according to the RMLD's Twitter account. The RMLD announced the outage at 7:50 a.m., and later announced that power was restored just 13 minutes later.

Wilmington Police indicate that multiple traffic signals on Concord Street were affected by the outage, in a response to the RMLD's tweet.

It's always smart to check your refrigerator temperature after any power outage, no matter how long power is out. According to foodsafety.gov, you should check the temperature inside of your refrigerator and freezer and discard any perishable food items that have been above 40 degrees for two hours or more.
