"Come Vote" In Wilmington Town Meeting: Letter To The Editor
In his latest missive, Selectman Michael McCoy urges residents to participate in Saturday's town meeting.

Dear Editor:
In this letter, I am not going to attempt to sway anyone voting in this upcoming town meeting on Saturday, December 16. I’m just going to say “Come vote”. That’s right—just come and vote no matter what side you’re on. Over the last several weeks I’ve talked with hundreds of people. Many of you have told me that you’ve never been to a town meeting and asked me how it works. I simply say “just go”. Everything will work out. It’s the best way to tell your local government what you want or don’t want.
Here are the basics to start: On Saturday December 16, 2017 at 10:30 a.m., go to the Wilmington High School and park either in that parking lot or across the street at the Fourth of July Building if the high school parking lot is full. Look for the signs and proceed to the auditorium. Go to the check in table, check in, get a badge which will state voter or non-voter. In order to vote at the town meeting, you must be a registered voter in the Town of Wilmington. Proceed to our brand new beautiful auditorium and take a seat. That’s it. The town moderator, Rob Peterson does a good job. Just listen to him and he will guide you through the process. As I stated to you earlier, I am not going to attempt to tell you how to vote relative to the drug detox medical facility article. The best thing we can do as town folks is just to go to the meeting, agree to disagree, be respectful to one another, and be civil. The day will come and the day will go.
