Wilmington Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested in Malden

A woman said she was assaulted and robbed in the area of Suncrest Avenue Tuesday afternoon.

WILMINGTON, MA — A man who allegedly assaulted and robbed a woman at gunpoint in Wilmington was arrested in Malden after selling her laptop to a local store, police said.

Wilmington and State Police were searching for the suspect in an alleged armed robbery in the Suncrest Ave. area in Wilmington. The female victim told police she met with a man to sell some sneakers in the area, but he attempted to take them without paying. He then assaulted her, threatened her with a firearm, and stole her laptop and sneakers, police say.

The suspect subsequently sold the computer to a store in Malden. A foot pursuit with Malden Police ensued, and the man was arrested. Police say he had a loaded firearm at the time.
