Wilmington Coronavirus: Town Election Delayed, New Date TBA
The Board of Selectmen voted at their March 30 meeting to postpone the election, initially scheduled for April 25.
WILMINGTON, MA — The annual Wilmington town election has been postponed, the town said Tuesday. The Board of Selectmen voted at their Monday meeting to delay the April 25 election due to the new coronavirus. The new date has yet to be determined.
The state passed legislation on March 23 allowing towns to postpone elections due to the new virus.
The state legislation also allows no-excuse early voting by mail, and absentee voting based on concern about the new virus. Early and absentee ballot applications are both available from the secretary of the commonwealth.
