Wilmington Firefighters Back Bendel In Selectmen's Race
The union says the incumbent "has strong community ties and shares the values and beliefs of our organization."

WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington Selectmen Greg Bendel picked up a key endorsement in his re-election bid Thursday. The union representing Wilmington firefighters wrote in social media posts it had informally endorsed Bendel. Bendel is one of two incumbents running in a six-way race for the two selectmen seats up for reelection this year.
"Wilmington Firefighters IAFF L1370 are pleased to announce our endorsement and support of Greg Bendel for Re-election to the Wilmington Board of Selectmen," the union said. "Mr. Bendel has strong community ties and shares the values and beliefs of our organization."
In addition to Bendel and incumbent Kevin Caira, chalengers Robert Fasulo Jr., Mark Maselli, Daniel Murphy and Suzanne Sullivan are on the ballot in the April 27 election. In a separate race, Kevin MacDonald, Daryn Marsh and Jomarie O'Mahony are running in the three-way race to serve the remaining one year on the three-year term for a seat that became vacant when Ed Loud resigned.
