5 Important Events on the Winchester Public Schools Calendar

WILMINGTON, MA — The 2016-2017 school year is almost here, and while students may be dreading it, the time has come to make preparations for the upcoming school year.

All Winchester students will be back in class on Sept. 6.

Grades 1-5 will be released early on Sept. 6. Grades 6 and 9 will attend classes from 7:45 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. Grades 7-8 and 10-12 will attend class from 11:30 a.m-2:15 a.m. Grades 1-5 will be released early on Sept. 7. Grades 6-12 will attend class from 7:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.

Here are five other important dates on the Winchester public schools calendar that you should be aware of during the first few months of the year.

1. Aug. 29: ELL Welcome Picnic
2. Sept. 15: Dr. Ruth Potee presents Marijuana "The Brain Under Construction" sponsored by the WCSC
3. Sept. 29: Early Release, PreK-12
4. Oct. 6: Class of 2017 Financial Aid Night
5. Oct. 17: Winchester High School Parent/Faculty Association meeting
