Acera to Host Free STEAM Afternoon
A free, family friendly afternoon of STEAM activities, hosted at Acera School: Robot building, forensic science, art stations and more!

Building a robot, learning about forensics, yogurt science, art, improv theater, and computer programming in Scratch. These are just a few of the activities kids can try their hand at during Acera School’s STEAM Afternoon & Open House on Saturday April 11.
The STEAM Afternoon, which will be held from 2:00 - 5:00 pm, promises to be a fun afternoon for all. While kids explore, parents can visit Acera’s cutting-edge science lab, learn more about the program and meet some of the scientists, innovative educators and artists who will lead summer workshops.
Acera’s Summer STEAM Camp will offer inquiry-based learning in science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM). What makes the day camp unique, according to founder and Winchester resident Courtney Dickinson, is the caliber of the instructors—some of whom have been researchers in leading labs at MIT and Brigham and Women’s Hospital—and the authentically engaging programs being offered.

“Students who are ready to inquire, discover and create, and who have a voracious appetite for learning, are invited to enroll in our one-of-a-kind, creative programs, where they can discover, design and build solutions that meet real needs,” Dickinson said. “Our talented teachers are offering exceptional programs this summer in areas that reflect their own passions, research, and creative endeavors.”
Another element that sets Acera’s Summer Program apart is its cutting-edge educational space. Workshops will be held in an actual scientific laboratory—Acera’s recently renovated Innovation Lab.

“Our day camp programs model what we believe is possible in education, and are aligned with Acera’s mission to develop the next generation of innovators, scientists, and leaders,” Dickinson said. “We invite families to attend our open house, see our wonderful space, and get a sampling of our summer workshops.”
Families who register on or before April 11th will receive a 20% discount on tuition. For more information, visit www.aceraschool.org or contact summercamp@aceraschool.org .
