Remembering Andrew Pywell

We are all better people for knowing Andrew Pywell. If you knew Andrew, you were blessed, and as sung in the stands of Liverpool FC soccer games: "You'll Never Walk Alone."

While there is no easy way to adjust to the loss of someone so enchantingly special as Andrew Pywell, the kindness that you have shown over the past month reminds us that we are loved. We cannot thank you enough for the flowers, the comfort food, the donations, the prayers, and the many offers of help.

While all of these kind gestures have warmed our hearts, it is the countless stories about Andrew’s character and impact on individual lives that have consoled us the most. From the ever so eloquent eulogy given by his childhood friend Andrew Hall, to the intimately hilarious little brother antics told through Facebook by his sister Kristen Bray, we rest assured that Andrew will not soon, nor ever, be forgotten.

Some of the most touching words also came from people who were not necessarily Andrew’s best friends or family members.  Many stories came from childhood and college acquaintances, Pywell Contracting Services clients and associates. So many stories, all with the same theme: Andrew’s welcoming, generous, charming personality, and of course, his smile: big, genuine and magnetic.

Andrew’s legacy will go on. People will continue to live in the beautiful homes he built in and around Winchester. Friend and partner Eric Clemente will continue to run his contracting business with the honesty and quality work ethics he instilled. And although young, Andrew’s children David & Audrey will grow up representing his heart and soul.

There will be no shortage of “Daddy” stories told at Joanna’s dinner table, on the soccer field, at the ice rink, on the chairlift, or on the back of a boat in Sunapee or Gloucester. Their many aunts, uncles, and cousins will gladly fill any gaps in their memories, as will a very long list of dear friends who will proudly wear the unofficial title of Aunt or Uncle.

Thank you, for everything.

Sincerely,

Marit Pywell and family
