Busy Night For Winchester Select Board

From Planning Board to En Ka Fair, approvals, concerns, and conversation.

The meeting started with a simple wish by representatives of the Planning Board. They want to be able to read plans submitted by developers.

Planning Board members attended Monday's Select Board meeting to update the board on issues before them. But one of the main issues was the process of approval that begins with a stamp on the plans. That stamp starts the development clock and when aspects of the plans are illegible it creates a problem. It created the most spirited discussion of the night, one that had Town Manager Richard Howard saying he felt "ambushed by the topic" but later concluding, "we should be able to clean this up."

  • To approve the fourth annual Kids PMC Bike Ride on June 16, 2018
  • To approve the parade permit for the En Ka Fair on Saturday, May 19, 2018
  • To approve a public amusement license for the En Ka Fair for May 18 and 19, 2018
  • To approve a Duathlon in support of the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA) of a 2-mile fun run and a 9-mile bike ride on May 6, 2018
  • To allow the Black Horse Tavern to begin brunch at 7 a.m. on Thanksgiving with alcoholic beverage service to begin at 8 a.m.
  • To approve a one-day alcoholic beverage license for Iaritza Menjivar for the Griffin Museum on Dec. 7
  • To approve a one-day alcoholic beverage license for Tom Sevigny for the Winchester Historical Society on Dec. 3
