The Treasure Hunt Game Launches Winchester Edition July 1 — Five Silver Coins are located somewhere in the town
CHELMSFORD, MA — A new community adventure is coming to Winchester this summer. The Treasure Hunt Game – Winchester Edition officially launches July 1, inviting residents to solve clues, explore their town, and compete to find five real silver coins in a publicly accessible location somewhere in Winchester.The five-day challenge will release 25 total clues — five per day — guiding participants through a mix of history, landmarks, and local exploration. The first person to correctly identify the exact location and submit the coordinates along with a photo wins the treasure. The prize consists of five Morgan silver dollars with an approximate retail value of $500.Organizers emphasize that the game is designed to be safe, family-friendly, and respectful of the community.“Nothing is buried, and no digging or trespassing is allowed,” said organizers. “The treasure is identified in a publicly accessible location. We want people to explore Winchester, not damage it.”Participants register online for $9.99 and receive daily clues via email. All rules are clearly outlined on the official website.Beyond the thrill of the hunt, the event supports a greater mission. Proceeds from the game support Top Secret Kids, a 32 year old public charity dedicated to providing low-cost, high-value science and math education programs to underserved students in the Boston area.The Treasure Hunt Game is designed to encourage outdoor exploration, problem-solving, family participation, and local pride. Organizers hope it becomes an annual tradition, with future editions expanding to additional towns.Residents of all ages are invited to participate.
