Roots & Riffs: Youth Rock Guitar Workshop

In this interactive 90-minute workshop, WCMS guitar faculty member Miles Blackwood will introduce participants to all the basics they’ll need to bring out their inner rock guitarist!

Get ready to learn:

• The role of blues at the roots of rock
• Power chords & fundamental rock techniques
• Rhythm and lead guitar approaches, and how to listen and use both in a rock group

All participants should bring a guitar and pick; if you have an electric guitar, please bring it along with a ¼ inch cable and distortion pedal (if available). Amps will be available for use.

Open to ages 10-18. Free for WCMS students; $15 for the general public. Advance registration is required.
