Canning Jam, Youth Yoga, and More
Check out Wright-Locke Farm's summer program offerings for kids and adults
Summer is here, and Wright-Locke Farm has a new lineup of programs for both kids and adults. Though our weeklong Summer Vacation Programs for kids in preschool through grade 5 are mostly sold out, the Farm is offering two Youth Morning Yoga Sessions on Friday, July 15 and Saturday, July 16 from 7 - 8am. Learn more here or register to have you child attend.
For teens and adults, the Farm offers a variety of practical skills workshops centered on local and seasonal foods, both cultivated and wild. Their first summer workshop, Introduction to Canning Jam and Sweet Preserves, is next Tuesday, June 28 from 6 - 8pm at Saint Eulalia's Parish kitchen. Learn the basic science of hot water bath canning and techniques for making delicious homemade jams, jellies, conserves, fruit sauces, whole and half fruits, and more. Education Director Rebekah Carter will lead this hands-on workshop that explains the necessary ingredients, equipment, and methods for safely making shelf-stable products at home on a small scale. Participants will help prepare and can a half pint jar of local strawberry-rhubarb jam to take home and enjoy. Click here to sign up!
