Town Meeting Openings -- Deadline Feb 8
65 Winchester Town Meeting openings will be up for
election on April 1, 2014. There are eight openings in Precincts 1-7 and nine
openings in Precinct 8.
Citizens in Winchester can participate in local government decisions about the
town budget, zoning/land use, public safety and other town services by being
elected to Town Meeting. So far, only 41 citizens are running for these Town
Meeting open seats (as of 1/28).
The last day to get a nomination form at the Town Clerk's
Office at Town Hall is Friday, February 8th. Then the form, signed by a minimum
of 10 residents, must be returned by Tuesday, February 11th.
