WINCHESTER, MA — The two candidates for the 5th Middlesex District's Senate seat took the stage at Stoneham Town Hall for their only public debate of this election cycle. Monday night's debate was hosted by the Winchester League of Women Voters, and featured incumbent State Senator Jason Lewis and challenger Vincent Dixon of Winchester. The 5th Middlesex District encompasses parts of Winchester. Unlike the candidates forum for the state representative candidates for the 31st Middlesex District, Lewis and Dixon did agree on numerous issues including the upcoming ballot question on the Charter School cap and the legalization of marijuana.The Candidates Forum was moderated by Patti Muldoon of the Arlington League of Women Voters, and was broadcast on StonehamTV.
