DIVISIONS 1, 1A

1. Everett (2-0) (1A, Greater Boston League): The defending Division 1 champs in Eastern Mass. have picked up right where they left off. The Crimson Tide, led by quarterback Jonathan DiBiaso, the coach’s son, routed Leominster 47-12 and Springfield Central 42-13 to open the season. They’ll travel to St. John’s Prep in Danvers Saturday for a 1:30 p.m. rematch of last year’s Super Bowl, .

2. BC High (1-1) (1, Catholic Conference): In one of the most impressive performances to date, BC High trounced Brockton 42-0 to open the season, as running back Preston Cooper rushed for more than 100 yards and three touchdowns. In Week 2, the Eagles lost at gridiron powerhouse DePaul Catholic in New Jersey 49-35. On Friday, they’ll look to get back to their winning ways in Massachusetts, as they’ll go on the road to face Chelmsford at 7 p.m.

3. Xaverian (2-0) (1, Catholic Conference): Now in his second year under center on the varsity squad, senior Chris Calvanese is looking to take the Hawks to the promise land –  the Division 1 Super Bowl. So far, so good. The Hawks went on the road to beat Malden Catholic 14-6 and Waltham 42-6. Much like Everett, their toughest test yet awaits Saturday afternoon, as they’ll host Brockton at 1:30 p.m.

4. Weymouth (2-0) (1, Bay State Conference): Quarterback Cam McLevedge and receiver Khary Bailey-Smith have looked like Tom Brady and Randy Moss, circa 2007, so far this season. In the Wildcats opening game, , McLevedge threw three of his six touchdown passes to Bailey-Smith. Next, the Wildcats beat up on Wellesley 49-14. They’ll go on the road Friday to face Gloucester at 7 p.m.

5. Andover (2-0) (1, Merrimack Valley Conference): After in their opening game, the Warriors , the defending Division 1A Super Bowl champs, 31-16, as star running back Andrew Coke rushed for close to 200 yards and three touchdowns. Andover will travel to Tewksbury for a 1:30 p.m. game Saturday.

6. Catholic Memorial (0-1) (1, Catholic Conference): Yes, the Knights were shutout 24-0 at Marshfield in their opening game, but with – quarterback A.J. Doyle, NC State; linebacker Cam Williams and defensive back Armani Reeves, Penn State; and defensive back Donovan Henry, Boston College – you probably shouldn’t count them out just yet. The Knights were back on track in Week 2, leading Connecticut powerhouse Trumbell 14-0 . They’ll look to get their first win of the season at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John’s in Shrewsbury.

7. Chelmsford (2-0) (1, Merrimack Valley Conference): In Chelmsford’s first two games, has shown why he’s committed to play at the Division 1 level – Boston College. The Lions , before Joy and the defense . Joy and his teammates will have to be on top of their game Saturday if they want to come out with a “W” against BC High.

8. Lincoln-Sudbury (2-0) (1A, Dual County League): Speaking of defense, no one has played better on that side of the ball than the Warriors. They shutout and , returning interceptions for touchdowns in both games. They’ll travel to Somerville Friday for a 7 p.m. contest.

9. Brockton (1-1) (1, Big Three): After getting crushed by BC High 42-0 in their opening game, the Boxers rebounded in Week 2 with a 27-7 win over Taunton. With quarterback Paul Mroz leading the offense, the Boxers will look to make it two-in-a-row in Saturday’s pivotal game at Xaverian.

10. Billerica (1-1) (1, Merrimack Valley Conference): Senior signal caller Nick LaSpada was as good as advertised in the Indians Week 1 49-28 win over Burlington, combining for five touchdowns through the air and on the ground. The Indians took a step back in Week 2 with a 12-7 loss at Woburn. In Week 3, they’ll travel to Methuen Friday for a 7 p.m. game, their first conference game of the season.

DIVISIONS 2, 2A

1. Duxbury (2-0) (2, Patriot League): In their opening game of the season, the Green Dragons looked poised to make another Super Bowl run. The defending Division 2A champs in Eastern Mass. handily defeated Bridgewater-Raynham 26-0 with senior quarterback Matt O’Keefe leading the team’s prolific spread offense. The Green Dragons went on to beat Plymouth North 35-21 in Week 2. They’ll host 2-0 New Bedford at 1 p.m. Saturday.

2. Mansfield (2-0) (2, Hockomock League): The Hornets have had no shortage of excitement thus far, with gut-wrenching wins over , (at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, N.Y.) and . The defending Division 2 champs in Eastern Mass. will begin Hockomock League action at 7 p.m. Friday when they host Stoughton.

3. Dracut (2-0) (2, Merrimack Valley Conference): Dual-threat quarterback Jimmy Ryan, a junior, threw for over 100 yards and ran for 100 more in the Middies impressive opening 13-7 win at St. John’s Prep in Danvers. The Middies then shutout Somerville 31-0. They’ll have another tough test at 7 p.m. Friday at Central Catholic.

4. Walpole (2-0) (2A, Bay State Conference): Junior running back Mike Rando has led the charge in the Rebels’ opening two wins – a , where he ran for close to 200 yards, and a 30-20 road win against Framingham. The defending Herget Division champs will host Brookline at 7 p.m. Friday.

5. Dennis-Yarmouth (2-0) (2A, Atlantic Coast League): After a four-touchdown performance in Week 1 in a 41-7 win at Taunton, quarterback Matt Montalto found his go-to-guy in Week 2, receiver Damion Johnson, as he hit him for three touchdowns in a , which was decided on a failed two-point conversion. The Dolphins will travel to Hingham Saturday for a 1 p.m. game.

6. Marshfield (1-1) (2A, Atlantic Coast League): After their emphatic 24-0 upset of Catholic Memorial, the Rams in Week 2. Led by quarterback Mark Pomella and a balanced rushing attack, the Rams will have to put up a good fight at Bridgewater-Raynham at 7 p.m. Friday to prove that Week 1 was no fluke.

7. King Philip (2-0) (2, Hockomock League): Senior running back Charles Ruffin has shouldered the early load, scoring three touchdowns in the Warriors opening and three more in their following . The Warriors will hit the road Saturday for the first time this season, as they’ll face Sharon at 1 p.m.

8. North Attleborough (2-0) (2, Hockomock League): The first two games of the season couldn’t have gone much better for the Rocketeers, as they and Bishop Feehan 21-3. The Rocketeers ground game is led by quarterback Spyro Varetimos. They’ll look to continue their success at 7 p.m. Friday at Canton.

9. Lawrence (2-0) (2, Merrimack Valley Conference): The Lancers’ explosive backfield of quarterback Nathan Baez and running back Kelvin Severino ran wild in their opening 32-13 win over Reading – Severino had more than 150 yards on the ground and four touchdowns. The twosome was then somewhat silenced against Tewksbury, but the Lancers’ defense rose to the occasion in the . Next up, the Lancers will travel to Lowell Friday for a 7 p.m. game.

10. Woburn (1-1) (2, Middlesex League): The start of the season has been night and day for the Tanners. After falling , the Tanners came back to defeat Billerica 12-7 behind Chucky Ortiz’ 71-yard touchdown run. The Tanners will host 2-0 Melrose at 7 p.m. Friday, as they begin Middlesex League action.

Best of the Rest: DIVISIONS 3, 3A, 4, 4A, 5

1. Concord-Carlisle (2-0) (3, Dual County League): Running back George Craan has the Patriots rolling. The senior rushed for 135 yards in a 26-7 victory over defending Division 3 champ Beverly and 167 in a . The Patriots, the , will go on the road to face Waltham at 7 p.m. Friday.

2. Holliston (1-1) (3, Tri-Valley League): The defending opened the season with a , as running back Jake Frechette rushed for close to 160 yards. The Panthers then put up a good fight but lost , the defending Division 2 champs from Central Mass. who are in the midst of a 39-game winning streak. A missed extra point was the difference. The Panthers will host Dover-Sherborn at 7 p.m. Friday.

3. East Bridgewater (2-0) (4, South Shore League): Running back Casey DeAndrade has been a force for the Vikings in wins over Plymouth South, 38-15, and Hanover, 50-20. The senior had three long touchdowns – two rushing, one receiving – against Plymouth South to put the Vikings on top. The Vikings will be on the road against North Quincy at 7 p.m. Friday.

4. Cardinal Spellman (2-0) (4, Catholic Central League): After , the Cardinals have a new look this year with Pat Hinkley and Dan Kustka replacing star running back Blaise Branch in the backfield. Despite the new faces, the results have been the same – the Cardinals and beat up on Norwell 30-8. Next up, they’ll host Bishop Feehan as league play commences at 7 p.m. Friday.

5. Hopkinton (2-0) (3, Tri-Valley League): Gunslinging quarterback Mike Decina has had the Hillers offense rolling in lopsided wins over , and . The Hillers will look to make it three-in-a-row to open the season when they host Medway at 7 p.m. Friday.

6. St. Mary’s (2-0) (4, Catholic Central League): Few teams have dominated their first two opponents more than St. Mary’s, as the Spartans trounced Cambridge 35-0 and then took a boat to take care of Martha’s Vineyard 44-22. The Spartans three-headed running attack of Todd Collier, Cory Donahue and Xavier Gonzalez has looked unstoppable thus far. They’ll host East Boston at 7 p.m. Saturday.

7. Canton (2-0) (3, Hockomock League): The much-improved Bulldogs have been impressive thus far with quarterback Anthony Bires, running back Elias Camacho and fullback Dexter Green leading the way. They beat Weston 35-14 in their opener and Quincy 26-12 in Week 2. They’ll host a talented North Attleborough team at 7 p.m. Friday.

8. Brighton (1-0) (5, Boston City League): The Bengals, who lost last year’s Division 4A Super Bowl 38-14 to Northeast, blanketed Boston English 36-0 in their opener with quarterback Jonathan Marrero and fullback Andrew Maestre combining for five touchdowns. They’ll travel to Stoneham Friday for a 6:30 p.m. game.

9. Westwood (2-0) (3, Tri-Valley League): Quarterback Alex Berluti has been a playmaker for the Wolverines, as they’ve opened the season with two solid wins – 20-14 at Bedford and . They’ll travel to Bellingham Friday for a 7 p.m. contest.

10. Arlington Catholic (2-0) (4, Catholic Central League): After a rare rebuilding year that saw the Cougars go 2-9, the team has returned to form with two big wins – 35-7 at Shawsheen and 20-7 at home against Franklin. Running back Bernard Lynch ran for two long touchdowns against Shawsheen and caught another, while quarterback Pat O’Donnell threw for one and snuck one in. Against Franklin, O’Donnell had two TD passes, Lynch one TD run. The Cougars will host Bedford at 6 p.m. Saturday.
