Bring Out Your Books

The En Ka Society, Winchester’s oldest women’s service organization, seeks donations of gently used children’s and adult books to support the Book Sale Tent at the society’s annual Street Fair, scheduled for Friday, May 19th and Saturday, May 20th 2017.

Anytime between Monday, April 10th and Monday, May 15th donated books may be left in the plastic collection bin outside the Carriage House of the Sanborn House, adjacent to Ambrose School at 27 High Street in Winchester. Look for the “Book Drop Here” signs near the door. Books can be placed in small easy to handle boxes, or enclosed in plastic bags to protect them from the elements.

En Ka is particularly in need of lightly used paperback fiction, mysteries, and children’s books. Movie DVDs, books on tape, and music CDs in good condition are also much appreciated. Please No VHS tapes! No textbooks, encyclopedias, magazines or condensed books!

All proceeds from the book sale will support En Ka’s annual grants to dozens of Winchester’s charitable and civic organizations. Books that remain unsold at the end of the fair will be donated to More Than Words, in Waltham, a nonprofit social enterprise that empowers at-risk youth. Contact Deb Bardi at Debbardi@aol.com or
