Farm Tour Offered to EL Silvia and Copicut Farms

E L Silvia Farm. Ed and Jane Silvia farm land on the Cotton River in Dighton and Somerset, within 20 miles of Buzzard’s Bay. They are the bedrock of the Winchester Farmers Market with their fresh vegetable and fruit produce.

Their daughter Elizabeth and son-in-law Vince founded Copicut Farm several years ago and provide eggs and poultry products.  Visitors will see turkeys and chickens foraging freely in the fields where they spend their entire lives and are treated humanely.

Winchester Farmers Market is offering opportunities to meet market vendors and spend time on Massachusetts farms. Tours are open to the public, but interested participants must sign up ahead of time by contacting market manager Fred Yen, who will arrange a meeting place for carpools or caravans to the farm site. Tours will be several hours to half a day in length. Expect the opportunity to walk in a farm setting outdoors.
