Tom Wooten grew up in Winchester, graduating from Winchester High School in 2004. His book, No One Had a Tongue to Speak is a narrative nonfiction account of a massive dam collapse and flash flood that took place in western India in 1979, and grew out of research that he and his college roommate, Utpal Sandesara, conducted while they were undergraduates at Harvard. 25,000 people perished in this deadly environmental disaster. Author Adam Hochschild says of this book, "This is an absorbing story not just about bureaucratic ambition and folly, but also about power and powerlessness."
We hope you will join us in welcoming Tom back to Winchester for a reading, discussion and signing. This event is free and open to the public.
