Parent to Parent Book Discussion- The Way of Boys- Promoting Social and Emotional Development of Young Boys

A book group discussion on Dr. Anthony Rao’s new book The Way of Boys: Promoting the Social and Emotional Development of Young Boys on Thursday, January 19, 2012 co-sponsored with the Winchester Public Library. 7 to 8:30pm in the Library’s large meeting room.  Dr. Rao, recognizing the distinct challenges of raising young boys, offers practical advice on how to raise happy and healthy men. He urges parents, educators and others to re-evaluate how we deal with young boys. In reaction to the current debate on the over-use of psychological disorder diagnoses, Dr. Rao clarifies what is normal boy behavior and development, giving parents the tools for how to best advocate for their sons in both academic and social situations.
